Art is a Time Capsule

I was asked to be a part of the very first drop of a local zine distributor, and I thought it would be fun to create something brand new to debut. Thus, Art is a Time Capsule was born.

I’d been feeling really reflective over art and its meaning to me lately, choosing to prioritize traditional media again after only working digitally for a few years. It’s been refreshing to rediscover all those skills I let sit unused. Then I started thinking about subject matter, what I like and dislike to draw, and the style I draw in. It made me realize that each drawing I’d done took a snapshot of me, too.

In this 14 page zine, you’ll read a reflective short story about how art journals you paired with drawings that ended up journaling me in the process.
